PROBLEM
She was in the process of growing out her hair from a bob, and the ends had become heavy, making her hair look flat overall. She wanted a style that would add lightness and movement without significantly changing the length.
SOLUTION
While maintaining the length at the base, I added layers to the surface and around the face, adjusting the cut to create natural movement at the ends. I finished the style with a balance that doesn’t remove too much volume, creating a defined curve when curled.
BEFORE / AFTER
BEFORE
AFTER
For this look, I transformed a growing-out bob—which tends to get heavy—into a layered style with light, flowing movement. Before the cut, the ends were thick, and while the hair held its shape well overall, the silhouette tended to look flat. So, without significantly changing the length, I added layers to the top and around the face to create natural movement in the hair. Simply curling the ends slightly adds roundness to the back of the head and creates a clean, defined curve at the nape of the neck. This style is recommended for those who are growing out a bob and want to change up their look, or for anyone looking to add lightness while keeping their current length.
