Tornado
PROBLEM
Her concern is that as her hair grows out, her silhouette loses its shape, making it difficult to create a rounded shape at the back of her head, which makes her hair look heavy overall. Her hair also tends to stick up at the nape of her neck, making it hard to achieve a balanced look from the side and to style her hair properly every morning.
SOLUTION
We carefully adjusted the cut lines to complement your bone structure and hair growth pattern, designing the style to create a natural roundness at the back of the head. The nape is kept tight to hug the neck, while the top features a soft, voluminous texture. By balancing the hair volume, we’ve created a short style that stays neat and manageable even when simply blow-dried.

With short hairstyles, simply cutting the hair shorter won’t create the ideal silhouette. The key is to carefully assess each client’s bone structure, hair texture, and natural hair growth pattern to determine where to add roundness and where to create definition. For this look, I cut the hair to create natural volume at the back of the head and carefully adjusted the nape to fit snugly against the neck. The result is a feminine short style with beautiful dimensionality from both the side and back, making the neckline look sleek and defined. It’s easy to style—simply blow-dry and lightly work in some styling product each morning—making it manageable even on busy mornings. This style is highly recommended for those who feel their “back of the head looks flat,” have “hair at the nape that stands up and won’t lie flat,” or are “worried about whether a short cut will suit them.”
